Congrats to the First Opening Your Eyes Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to the inaugural class of Opening Your Eyes Scholarship recipients: Genesis Opokularbi, Jaedon-King Fletcher, Aaron Nyambe, Melissa Bottex, JonChris Valerio, Anastacia Paul, and Diya Folia. We are so excited to see the impact these bright students will have in the optical industry in the years to come.
STATE is proud to contribute a portion of sales from STATE X Maxwell REUNION sunglasses to the Vision Council’s Opening Your Eyes Scholarship. Born out of the struggles of 2020 and seeking to provide more opportunities to teens in Black and Brown communities, Opening Your Eyes provides tuition, an internship, and mentorship to high school seniors who aspire to become opticians. For Maxwell, this project is more than a pair of sunglasses, it’s a way to give back, and he is proud to sit on the scholarship’s board.
